Jamie Solorio | Fine Art & Experimental Photographer
Jamie Solorio is a surreal and temporal photographer based in Redding, California. Her work explores ecological consciousness, transformation, and the imperfection of being human. She uses long exposures, torch-based light painting, ambient and off-camera lighting, and digital solarization. Flora, upcycled materials, and elements from her permaculture food forest are central to her low-footprint process.
Her portraits are shaped by historical and contemporary influences—from early experimental portraiture and religious iconography to the bold symbolism of artists like Elizaveta Porodina. She draws on the tradition of copyists and visual reinterpretation to reflect on dualism, inner transformation, and the pull between spiritual values and consumer culture.
She is currently working on BIOPHILIAC: Resisting the Rabbit Hole of Consumption—a surrealist meditation on healing, sustainability, and our relationship with the Earth.
Jamie Solorio | Owner and Principal Photographer
Jamie Solorio owned and operated a full-service studio in Northern California, specializing in commercial, portrait, and editorial photography. Her work has been featured by Dignity Health, The McConnell Foundation, Marriott Hotels, The Breed, and The LA Fashion Magazine. While she remains deeply connected to visual storytelling, she is currently taking a step back from commercial work to focus on family and explore a new artistic direction in fine art and experimental photography.
