Personal Branding & Creative Portrait Sessions | What to Expect
Personal Branding & Creative Individual Sessions | What to Expect
Jamie Solorio Studio is based in Redding, California. Designed for professionals, artists, and performers, these sessions provide time to create a varied collection of intentional images for professional, promotional, editorial, or creative use.
Sessions are shaped around your goals and may explore variations in wardrobe, lighting, expression, movement, and composition. Images are photographed tethered for collaborative review throughout the session, with an assistant present to support lighting and flow.
Sessions are available in 60, 90, and 120-minute options.
Choosing the Right Session Length
The appropriate session length depends on the number of looks, wardrobe changes, and amount of creative variation you would like to explore.
A 60-minute session may be appropriate for a focused set of professional or creative portraits with limited wardrobe and lighting changes.
Longer 90 and 120-minute sessions allow additional time for multiple looks, lighting changes, movement, and more developed creative ideas.

Personal Branding
Personal branding sessions are designed for individuals who need a cohesive collection of images representing their professional identity, personality, and work.
Rather than creating a single traditional headshot, these sessions allow for greater variety in expression, composition, wardrobe, and visual tone. Images may be created for websites, social media, press materials, speaking engagements, publications, and other professional uses.
Your goals and intended platforms are reviewed before the session to help guide the photographic approach prior to your session.
Creative Individual Portraits
Creative Individual sessions are intended for artists, actors, dancers, musicians, and individuals seeking portraits with greater visual experimentation or expressive direction.
Depending on the goals of the session, we may explore dramatic lighting, movement, unusual composition, expressive portraiture, or other approaches that align with my studio practice.
Image Selection & Refinement
After your session, images are prepared according to the collection and refinement options associated with your booking.
A brief questionnaire is provided prior to the session to gather information about your goals, intended image use, and refinement preferences.
My editing approach prioritizes the integrity of the photographed person while allowing for thoughtful color, tonal, compositional, and editorial refinement.
Platform-Specific Optimization
For clients using images across professional, promotional, or commercial platforms, platform-specific crops and image optimization may be requested through a pre-session questionnaire. This helps ensure selected images are prepared appropriately for their intended use.
Image Optimization
For professional and commercial uses, optional image optimization services, including metadata embedding, are available.
Reference Images | Optional
If you have a specific visual direction in mind, you may share a small number of reference images through the pre-session questionnaire.
References are used as visual context to help communicate preferences in lighting, mood, styling, composition, posing, or overall direction. They are not used as exact templates.
All references are reviewed in advance to confirm alignment with my studio approach and current offerings. If an idea falls outside what I can support within the session, I will let you know before your scheduled date.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a headshot and a personal branding session?
A traditional headshot session is a short, focused sitting designed to create one strong professional portrait. Personal branding and creative portrait sessions provide additional time for multiple looks, lighting variations, and a broader collection of images for professional, promotional, editorial, or creative use.
Which session length should I choose?
The best session length depends on the number of looks, wardrobe changes, and amount of creative variation you would like to explore. A 60-minute session is suited to a focused collection with limited changes, while 90 and 120-minute sessions provide more time for multiple looks, lighting changes, movement, and creative exploration.
Who are these sessions for?
Personal branding and creative portrait sessions are designed for professionals, business owners, artists, actors, dancers, musicians, and other individuals seeking a varied collection of intentional studio imagery.
Can I share ideas or reference images before my session?
Yes. After booking, you may share a small number of reference images through the pre-session questionnaire. References help communicate preferences in mood, lighting, styling, or composition and are used as visual context rather than exact templates.
