About

Jamie Solorio is a Northern California- based surrealist photographer whose work explores ecological interconnectedness, memory, and the imperfection of being human. Drawing on experimental techniques such as long exposure, solarization, and mixed media, her practice blends portraiture with permaculture-inspired symbolism and a quiet resistance to overconsumption. Jamie frequently collaborates with stylists, makers, and local artists to expand the narrative and material language of her work.

Jamie Solorio | Surrealist Photographer & Mixed Media Artist

Jamie Solorio is a Northern California–based surreal and temporal photographer whose practice incorporates mixed media. Her work explores ecological consciousness, transformation, and the imperfection of being human. She experiments with long exposures, light painting, digital solarization, and mixed media, often incorporating flora and upcycled materials from her permaculture food forest, to create low-footprint portraits informed by historical influences, religious iconography, and surrealist aesthetics. She is currently developing BIOPHILIAC: Resisting the Rabbit Hole of Consumption—a surrealist meditation on healing, sustainability, and our evolving relationship with the Earth.
